A viewpoint opposite the monument erected in 1985 by the highly regarded artist, César Manrique, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory. Its panel describes the “Flags of the Cosmos”, designed by him for this great event. It also has four star charts which help visitors to recognize the constellations of the night sky, a signpost pointing to Polaris, and a wheelplanisphere which helps locate the circumpolar constellations: the Dipper and Cassiopeia.
